Living Lavishly Brunch 2024: A Celebration of Foster Care and Community

Last Saturday, June 1st 2024, Very Ashley hosted the annual Living Lavishly Brunch at The Boathouse at Sunday Park, bringing together over 50 attendees in a vibrant celebration of foster care, positivity, and community spirit. In a touching tribute to Foster Care Awareness, guests wore blue, symbolizing their solidarity and support for the cause.

The highlight of the event was the keynote speech by Barry Farmer of The Barry Farmer Morning Show. Farmer captivated the audience with his heartfelt story of fostering three young boys at the age of 20, sharing the profound impact this journey has had on his life. His message resonated deeply, emphasizing the transformative power of love and commitment in the foster care system. “Adopting my sons was the best decision I ever made,” Farmer said. “They are still very much a part of my life, and I am incredibly proud of the men they are becoming.”

The event also featured a diverse panel of experts who shared insights and experiences related to foster care. Leila Gunning from Patty’s Hope, Adrienne Whitaker from The Success Foundation, and Karen Parsons from VA Kids Belong joined the discussion, bringing a wealth of knowledge and perspectives to the table.

Conversations delved into the challenges and rewards of foster parenting, with each panelist offering valuable insights based on their organization’s work. Leila Gunning spoke passionately about Patty’s Hope’s efforts to provide support and resources to foster families, while Adrienne Whitaker highlighted The Success Foundation’s initiatives to empower foster youth through education and mentorship. Karen Parsons shared the mission of VA Kids Belong, advocating for every child in foster care to have a loving and stable family.

In addition to the inspiring speeches and panel discussions, attendees enjoyed a spectacular Very Ashley fashion show, showcasing the latest collection and featuring the Very Ashley Angels. The fashion show beautifully merged style with a meaningful cause, reinforcing the event’s theme of fostering positivity and self-expression.

Ashley, the founder of Very Ashley, expressed her gratitude to all who attended and supported the event. “Living Lavishly Brunch is not just about fashion; it’s about fostering a sense of togetherness and making a positive impact in our community,” she said. Ashley also teased a major announcement, which has created much anticipation and excitement within the community.

The Living Lavishly Brunch 2024 was not only a celebration of fashion and philanthropy but also a powerful reminder of the impact each individual can make in the lives of foster children. As attendees left the event, they carried with them a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to supporting foster care initiatives.

Very Ashley looks forward to continuing this tradition of blending fashion with meaningful causes, empowering individuals, and strengthening the community.
